The magic of Donald Ross lives at Southern Pines Golf Club. The natural terrain that reveals each hole inspires the traditionalist and rewards the imaginative shot maker. All ability levels are accommodated with the diverse course conditions. By matching the slopes of the putting surfaces with the challenging green speeds, the play of the greens demand pace as well as direction for the successful putt. Southern Pines Golf Club (“SPGC”) is owned by the Elks Lodge and operated by Legacy Golf Management (“LGM”), a privately- owned golf course management company based out of Atlanta, Georgia. SPGC is an 18-hole facility located in Moore County, NC in the heart of Southern Pines and was designed by Donald Ross. SPGC is a resort golf club that permits play from members, guest of members, resort guest and the general public. As a resort course, our play and corresponding rates are seasonal. Generally peak season is from mid-March to mid-May and from mid-September to the end of October. Especially during peak season, a significant portion of play is from golfers on a golf package. The Mid South Club Arnold Palmer signature golf course offers it’s members a challenging yet enjoyable championship layout on which to test their skills. Mid South Club has 11 acres of bunkers. Don’t forget your sand wedge for the 14th hole, which has plenty of sand traps and bunkers. Longleaf Golf & Family Club is a nationally-renowned club that boasts a championship Dan Maples-designed, Bill Bergin-remodeled golf course, Heartwood Grill & Greens restaurant, the U.S. Kids Golf Academy, Bottlebrush short course, as well as numerous other amenities. Home of the Longleaf Tee System, the data-based method to scale a golf course making it fair and fun for every level of player, the club has quickly developed a reputation for innovation and commitment to serve every all players, from professional to absolute beginner. Longleaf offers great value as a membership facility but is also open for non-member play. Our “ALL GRASS” practice tee (no mats) and top quality range balls make the practice experience as good as it gets Range hours are 8:00 am to dusk. We offer various lesson, club fitting, and range plans. Knollwood Fairways was named PING Golf’s National Club Fitter of the year for 2010. Along with the range and game improvement programs at Knollwood we also offer a challenging 9-hole golf course where the art of shot making takes precedence over power. Great walking facility but carts are available. Seniors, ladies and juniors find Knollwood very attractive and not intimidating.
